Plantations of US Presidents
Adams Co., MS. This plantation was just to the south-west of the town of Natchez. On the map at the following link, it is on the lower right edge. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/maps/mississippi/citymap/natchez1891.jpg
Fatherland Plantation was on the former site of the "Grand Village of the Natchez Indians," which is a park today on Jefferson Davis Blvd. Driving directions to the park (and thus the historic plantation land) are at the following link near the bottom of the page. http://www.mdah.state.ms.us/hprop/gvnivisit.html
To see the land today, go to www.google.com. Then click on "map" to do a map search and type in "Grand Village of the Natchez Indians" in the search bar. When the map comes up, zoom in and then click "hybrid" to see the fields and forests.

Bingaman
The following link summarizes Colonel Bingaman's life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Lewis_Bingaman
As mentioned above, the plantation was on the same land as the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians. Thus, in addition to this link - http://www.mdah.state.ms.us/hprop/gvni.html - the link at the following website to the map showing "Early Indian Tribes" of the east would probably be of interest to researchers as well. http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/histus.html .
